Evans Branch Farms is a beautiful 1030 acre stretch of land located in Ten Mile, Tennessee. It was started back in 1989 when Jeff Beene purchased the Irwin Mansion on Watts Bar Lake.
Irwin was a very wealthy oil tycoon from Oklahoma whose wife was from Ten Mile. Her family owned a farm along the banks of the Tennessee river and where they operated a ferry service before Watts Bar Lake was created in 1941.
After the construction of Watts Bar Dam and the lake was filled, Irwin visited the area and he was so impressed that he began construction on a new estate. His home, as well as some of the land, are now a part of Evans Branch Farms. More land was later added to the property after purchasing from the timberland and paper mill powerhouse Bowater Corporation.
